Agraharam 51 in the 100 Agraharams Project

Kavassery - Mullakkal Gramam

Sri Mani Iyer (K. A. Anantasubramanian) of Kavassery Mullakkal Gramam narrates this video, providing an exemplary presentation of the temple, its presiding deity, the lifestyle of the agraharam residents, and the anubhavams (miracles) associated with the lord of the temple.

In his narration, Sri Mani Iyer shares fascinating details, such as how offerings of butter and consuming the prasadam are believed to bestow santana bhagyam (the blessings of offspring). He also recounts miraculous stories, including instances of vision being restored after prayers offered to the deity.

He highlights the selfless contributions of the late Sri K. V. Shankara Narayanan, who restored the temple with simplicity, avoiding unnecessary frills or expenses. His efforts to gather support from neighboring agraharams to accomplish this restoration stand as an inspiration for us all.

As part of the 100 Agraharams Project, I have noticed a few agraharams struggling due to lack of support. Sri Mani Iyer’s narrative underscores the responsibility of neighboring agraharams to step in and rejuvenate such communities. Only through collective effort can we preserve and uphold our shared heritage.
